The Videor Art Foundation opens the exhibition „geträumte REALITÄT″ (dreamed reality) with the works of Wolfgang Schöps on March 19, 2009 at 6.30 pm.
The Duisburg photographer, painter and musician (www.bob-aurel.de) is following his artistic claim of gaining a perfect symbiosis of pictorial composition and music and combining them into a synthesis of the arts with a special picture language. The symbiosis is arising from the professional and innovative handling of the computer technique and its possibilities. Special image processing programms are allowing scenes, expressing their complete own spirit. In this process Schöps is using the classic female nude as a base du to burst the visual habits with static posture. In the mix with extraordinary foreground- and background structures all components of the work are becoming a pretended reality. As the human brain cannot distinguish between dream and reality, the artist is naming his exhibition „geträumte REALITÄT“ (dreamed reality).
As an orchestral musician and composter Schöps is daring a further step. He is connecting his works with vanguard Crossover-improvisations as part of his synthesis of the arts. These musical components the artist is creating consequently in a digital way and is connecting them in meticulous precision work to an entire composition: At the vernissage Schöps and the jazz pianist and guitarist Adrian Czarnecki will answer with improvisational Crossover-Compositions to the spirit emanating from the motives.
Wolfgang Schöps was born in 1949 in Duisburg, Germany. 1964 studies of music, followed by continuative studies at the „Folkwangschule for music and art. 1968 first performance of spectacle and stage music at the “Oberhausen theatre” and increasing interest in the work of the stage designers.
