"Zwischen den Zeichen" [Programmierung, Zufall, Inspiration] of the art duo B. Felician Siebrecht && KL Pempeit
The Videor Art Foundation is showing works of the artist duo R100:
The opening is on November 20, 2008
Rödermark, October 2008.
Videor Art Foundation will open the exhibition "Zwischen den Zeichen [Programmierung - Zufall- Inspiation] (Between the Signs [Programming-Coincidence- Inspiration]) of the artist duo R100 on November 20th at 6:30 p.m. It shows the result of an artistic experiment that once again raises the question of our perception: Behind the aesthetic surface of every digital work of art there is an invisible level, the level of the Signs, the programming codes and algorithms. The Iserlohn artists B. Felician Siebrecht and KL Pempeit have moved along this level, broken down digital photographs into their pixel parts and put them back together again for a new picture with their self-programmed software and different arbitrary algorithms. At the same time, they have taken original photos as a basis and created a digital image from the predefined pixel information. In it, the idea and the artistic inspiration is at work rather than an algorithm. Both poles of the digital work of art are put together for expressive rows. The original photos, the algorithms and the artistic processing are of equal value to the computer since they contain the same information. Merely the sequences vary - after all, computers cannot read between the signs. Not yet anyway?
Beam.Arts shows options of "Digital Sculptures"
The second part of exhibition lasting until March 13th shows so-called Beam.Arts of KL Pempeit, a sculptor working with the options of "Digital Sculptures" or the border area of sculpting, images, materiality and surfaces. Beam.Arts connects the digital motif with the sculpture's surface. This technique too utilises the pixel level of digital images to generate a pure structure of depth of the image through reduction. Dr. Roland Held will introduce the audience interested in the arts into the work of the artists that have cooperated in project-related works for several years as the artist duo R100. They both use computers, but put emphasis on their artistic heritage in traditional artistic techniques: B. Felician Siebrecht has studied painting and media design, KL Pempeit is a stonemason and master sculptor of stone. The distinctiveness of their joint artistic work lies in the synthesis of different artistic methods and techniques.
